Do You Need a Coyote Repellent?

Need A Coyote Repellent For This Friendly Looking Animal? The Coyote is a small animal, contrary to what many people believe with the adult male coyote usually weighing in at around 30lbs. Although the coyote is a member of the dog family, you’d probably be surprised at what they look like. To view them from a distance, they look quite nice and often do not openly display the mean, vicious streak that coyotes are known for. However do not be fooled… the coyote is an extremely dangerous animal.

For those who raise livestock such as cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry, the coyote is a real nuisance that causes major problems in the barnyard. Coyote repellent then is clearly needed in situations where coyotes interfere with humans in a detrimental way.

Why The Need For Coyote Repellent?

The Coyote seems to be getting braver. Not only do they prey on livestock but more and more they are being spotted in suburban neighborhoods. They show up looking for food in trash bins, pet bunnies, pet cats and pet dogs: when a coyote feels hungry, they’re not too fussy about what’s on the menu. So… finding an effective coyote repellent is vital.

What Coyote Repellent Methods Are Available?

Other than trapping, physical capture, shooting, relocation or destroying the coyote, keeping these animals away is quite a task. Coyotes are great climbers and their large teeth help them to escape certain trapping methods easily. They are also animals which tend to travel and prey at night rather than in daylight hours and are quite sneaky, often hard to catch or repel.

There have been some attempts made to repel coyotes through the use of a motion detection system. However it was soon discovered that this type of system caused other problems such as scaring the family pets and causing disturbances in the neighborhood.

However, there has been at least one form of coyote repellent that has proven to be effective. This coyote repellent is called Phantom wildlife deterrent, which scares away coyotes without scaring the family pet.

Phantom Wildlife Coyote Repellent

Phantom Wildlife coyote repellent uses sounds instinctively recognized by coyotes from birth. It uses sounds similar to that of a mountain lion or cougar: both are animals that the coyote fears.

Keep Coyotes Out Of Your Garden With Coyote Repellent! The Phantom Wildlife dterent only operates at night since this is when coyotes do the majority of their business. It sends out instinctive sound “messages” at different intervals, which last long enough for the coyote to recognize but not long enough to allow them time to figure out the difference. The great thing is that the sounds the Phantom Wildlife deterent makes are recognized by the coyote but do not affect the family pet… Phantom deterrents do not use motion detectors.

In the meantime… good luck with your coyote repellent!
