Skunk Repellent

The skunk is a nocturnal animal that is boldly colored black and white from the nose to the tip of the tail. Perhaps the most famous skunk is Pepé Le Pew (the Warner Bros. cartoon character) but skunks themselves are most famous for their ability to spray an awful musky smelling odor. Hence a skunk repellent can be a highly desirable if not vital tool for many North American homeowners.

Why Do Homeowners Need Skunk Repellent?

A skunk is capable of spraying up to 15 feet and the terrible odor is potent enough to carry for a mile! But this is just the malodorous tip of the iceberg as skunks cause many problems for homes and people alike:

• Aside from the smell, the skunk's spray be an extreme irritant and can even temporarily cause blindness.
• They burrow holes under porches and buildings.
• They dig holes in lawns and gardens searching for food.
• Skunks are also known for killing poultry causing problems for those who raise livestock.

So you see, skunks are not quite as cute as Pepé Le Pew… they can be very tormenting animals. So, if you have a problem with skunks, you will likely need an effective skunk repellent.

When trying to repel skunks, you might want to remove any sort of attraction such as pet food, trash and any dropped fruit from trees. Skunks wander around looking for food and shelter just like any other wild animal so it is imperative to get rid of anything in your garden that is inviting to them.
