Why Use A Rabbit Repellent?
Rabbits are only known to many people as furry, cuddly little pets: children love them and they are a pet that is easy to care for. Some people keep them in their home, in a cage or kennel while some breeds of rabbits have the run of the house, hopping around, free to explore and nap wherever they please.
Many other people have rabbits but keep them in cages outside. So long as you feed these little animals, they are happy. However, in North America there are also wild rabbits that live in the forest. As long as they stay in their natural environment, they cause no problems for most people. However, a rabbit doesn’t always stay in their natural environment and when they begin hopping about the community they can cause problems for some individuals. At this point a rabbit repellent can be a must have item.
Where Is Rabbit Repellent Required?
The biggest threat a rabbit would pose is the potential for damage to people’s gardens… especially vegetable gardens. In agricultural areas too, farmers may experience problems with wild rabbits. They tend to get into the vegetable gardens and have a field day nibbling on the greens and although rabbits do not pose a threat to people, they can cause frustration and torment. In situations where rabbits are invading gardens and destroying crops, a rabbit repellent is a great asset.
If you are looking for a rabbit repellent, you’re likely going to use it on your garden and vegetables. Keeping this in mind you will want a rabbit repellent that is non-toxic, one that doesn’t harm humans or animals and one that will not harm your veggies or affect the way they taste. You can buy a spray-on rabbit repellent perhaps but it is imperative to read the list of ingredients, the warnings and the directions. To insure a rabbit repellent is effective, following the manufacturer’s directions is very important.
Trapping Versus Rabbit Repellent
Rabbits are very fast, so catching them without harming them will definitely be challenging. There are people in North America who trap and snare rabbits either for food or their fur but if you are looking for a rabbit repellent to simply keep these pesky little animals out of your garden, a spray-on rabbit repellent or a repellent that creates a barrier is perhaps the best choice for you.
Without causing harm to your gardens or the rabbits, there are rabbit repellents available which are very effective. To learn more about which rabbit repellent to buy, see some of our rabbit repellent reviews in our Animal Repellent Category.
