Goose Repellent – The Goose Is Cooked!
One of the biggest problem causing birds in North America is the Canada Goose, of which there are several breeds or types. Hence goose repellent is a necessity for many North Americans.
Why You Might Need A Goose Repellent
The goose is an aggressive bird that likes to inhabit and nest in areas near water where there is vegetation that can offer protective cover. The goose is brave and has no issue with chasing animals and humans away from its nesting ground. In truth, if you encounter a really angry goose, you really may risk injury. Geese are known for damaging crops by nibbling on them or stomping all over them, and are also known to damage ponds and reservoirs with their droppings. Hence the goose is not a welcome site on golf greens or lawns since they can be quite destructive.
When problems arise with geese, you need an effective goose repellent. There are various repellents available and recommended for repelling geese. There are also methods that you can employ to limit your encounters with geese.
You can use herbicides to remove vegetation in ponds, and reduce fertilizer use on grass on lawns so as to reduce the amount of nutrients in the grass. You might also try using a goose repellent to affect the taste of grass and other areas where geese tend to congregate. If the food is undesirable, the goose will take flight in search of a more suitable feeding ground.
What Goose Repellent?
You could use scaring devices such as bird scare flags. There are also goose repellent devices which send out noises that are similar to those made by its predators. You could also try using bird wire to fence in areas where geese are not wanted: this creates a barrier in specified areas to deter geese from entering.
Repelling Geese
Before making an attempt to control any animal, you should check with laws and regulations regarding the particular animal or in this case bird, in your area.
