Snake Repellent – Help For Slippery Problems
Snakes are not a problem that everybody in North America has to worry about. However for some people, snakes are a very real and dangerous problem: snake repellent can help.
Some areas have both non-poisonous and poisonous snakes slithering around their gardens, attempting to gain entry into their homes and personal spaces. Even if a snake is non-poisonous, it can still be a very distressing thing to see for many people who suffer from ophidiophobia (fear of snakes).
People who are not familiar with the various types of snakes are incapable of determining whether or not a snake is actually poisonous. If you don’t know your snakes you should never take any chances if you come across them… especially if you have children and pets in your home. If a snake is poisonous, it could cause serious harm to those you care about.
An effective snake repellent is an excellent defense when dealing with snakes around your home. Using a snake repellent will make you feel safer and will ensure that you are doing something to rid your family of these slippery creatures.
There are various snake repellents on the market today. To find one that works for you, it may be a good idea to learn more about the different snake repellents, the ingredients and the intended results. A popular snake repellent is Snake-A-Way. This product appears to be the only EPA approved, patented and tested snake repellent.
Snake-A-Way has proven to be an effective snake repellent for both poisonous and non-poisonous snakes. This particular snake repellent, is non-hazardous to humans, animals and plant life although the active ingredient in Snake-A-Way is naphthalene, which is considered to be a volatile product.
Naphthalene vaporizes and when inhaled by a snake, is capable of closing down the snake’s sensory system, scaring them away. Snake-A-Way snake repellent comes in a pellet form, which should be placed around entrances and other areas you hope to protect.
There are other effective snake repellents on the market, which we will review over the coming months. In the meantime, if you have a serious problem with snakes or reside in an area where snakes are a known nuisance, your local wildlife department will likely be equipped to help with your concerns or offer suggestions and tips for repelling snakes.
Also, you check with your neighbors for advice on effective snake repellents they are using, because as sure as eggs are eggs if you have snakes, they do too.
Snakes can be extremely dangerous and are not the type of visitor you like to see. Fortunately snake repellents can provide you with the protection you need.
